Our
Approach
Our Healthcare Philosophy
We take a Functional Medicine approach to healthcare. Functional Medicine is a personalized, patient-centered approach that focuses on addressing the underlying causes of disease to improve patient health. It starts with a detailed analysis of each patient’s genetic, biochemical, and lifestyle factors and uses that information to develop custom treatments for every patient.
Functional Medicine differs from other forms of treatment in that it focuses on understanding the causes, preventions, and treatments of complex, chronic diseases. Foundations of our Functional Medicine approach include:
-
Patient-Oriented Care - our focus is on understanding our individual patients to develop custom solutions to their health issues. We also identify ways to improve overall well-being in addition to the efforts to heal and eliminate disease.
-
Holistic Approach - we recognize that a condition may have many root causes and one cause may result in many different conditions. By connecting the dots, we find how imbalances within and outside the body are connected and how they influence each other.
-
Incorporates Medical Best Practices - Functional Medicine uses traditional Western medical practices such as laboratory testing, diagnostic testing, and prescribed medications (when needed), along with other evidence-based approaches such as supplements, diets, detoxification programs, and stress-management techniques.
Our Process With Patients
To provide personalized, patient-centered care, we perform the following process with our patients:
-
Gather Relevant Health Information: we start with an initial consultation that typically lasts around 90 minutes and can include questionnaires, a physical exam, and a review of medical history among other pieces of information. This stage also may include lab testing to get a deeper understanding of a patient's health.
-
Identify the Root Causes of Health Issues: after we have gathered all of the necessary pieces of information, we begin a thorough analysis to find the root causes of your health issues.
-
Develop Improvement Plan: once we have an understanding of the root causes, we review these findings with our patients so they understand how we identified the issue. From there, we collaborate with our patient to develop a plan for restoring balance and improving health and vitality.
-
Monitor Health Progress: when a patient is undergoing a treatment plan, we’ll continue to monitor their health through in-person or by phone check-ins and other methods to monitor progress and make changes to the plan as needed.
Additionally, every patient will have access to our Patient Portal where they will be able to see a summary of their visits, view recommendations, and use the secure messaging system to communicate directly with our team. They are also able to use this space to access invoices so they can submit them to their insurance provider for out-of-network benefits.
Patients We Care For

-
They are motivated and willing to make diet and lifestyle changes to improve their overall health rather than looking for "a pill for every ill".
